This is the 29th year of fundraising for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Volunteer Council, and one of their most successful endeavors has been their Musical Feast Series. These feature live music with DSO musicians in the homes of local residents and other interesting venues such as the Penguin exhibit at the Detroit Zoo.
My husband, Mark, arranges the musicians for each event, and it’s a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the musicians as well as meet other like-minded people.
I attended a recent Musical Feast in the home of Nora and Guy Barron, featuring the DSO Horn Quartet, beautiful art, and an exquisite strolling buffet by Palate Pleaser. Each year when the Volunteer Council puts out their brochure, many of the “Feasts” sell out immediately. To learn how to join the “DSO VC” and get on the mailing list, email Esther Lyons at elyons16@comcast.net.

Mark and I just celebrated 31 years of marriage last week! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He has supported me every step of the way with this Smart Women project and every other dream I have had.
